A real highlight for us was spending last week in Monterey and reconnecting with all of our friends there at Calvary Chapel. Pastors Nate Holdridge and Geoff Buck are doing a great job. The church seems vibrant and healthy. I spoke on Wednesday night on the subject of "the fire of delayed answers". Actually that is the title of a book we read recently written by Bob Sorge. It seems to be the place in which we find ourselves. While it certainly doesn't compare with cancer or a death in the family, God's perceived silence can be a genuine test of our faith. We would appreciate your prayers that our loving Father might grant us fresh vision and new open doors for the gospel.
Our children and grandchildren seem to be doing well. Our oldest daughter Rachel and her husband Jedd are in the process of adopting a baby girl from Ethiopia. Her name is Emnet. She is four months old and weighs just over seven lbs. She was abandoned in a forest at age two months. We would appreciate your prayers that God enables her to gain weight and that the adoption proceeds smoothly. Lord willing, she could become our seventh grandchild by early next year. That would mean that our grandchildren are American, Filipino, Pakistani, and Ethiopian. Sounds like the United Nations :). Hallelujah! To God be the glory!
Precious EmnetHope you will stay in touch. Let us know how we can pray for you. We treasure our friends in Christ. God bless you.
